Laser / IPL

Ablative and non-ablative lasers are commonly used for aesthetic treatments including skin resurfacing, and the reduction of scars and texture irregularities. The most effective single treatment results come from ablative lasers like the 2940nm Er:YAG, which uses high temperatures to vaporise the outer layer of the skin. This process causes the skin to heal and restructure with visible signs of ageing dramatically reduced. Ablative lasers do however present a higher degree of risk and longer recovery time (several weeks) after treatment.

In contrast, non-ablative lasers like the 1540nm Er:Glass penetrate the target tissue to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production to fill in unwanted skin imperfections such as fine lines or wrinkles, without actually destroying the tissue structures. While non-ablative lasers require multiple treatment sessions, both patient recovery time and risk are greatly reduced.

Treatments are selected in accordence to skin type/skin tone (side effects can occur from any laser/IPL treatments, such as redness, pigmentation, blistering of the skin these are just some of the side effects that may occur)

A Consultation is conducted prior to treatment to ensure this is suitable for yourself. We always recommend a patch test 48 hours prior to treatment.
